The Importance of Life Insurance...Are You Adequately Protected??

Life Insurance is Important!

I’m going to be blunt. This article is about the importance of Life Insurance and where to find rates that are affordable. EVERYONE needs life insurance!

Although many of us may think we are immortal, especially if you are a 20 to 30 year old male, the truth is quite the opposite. Accidents happen every day that devastate families emotionally, as well as financially.

How do I know this? I speak from experience.

Do you think death can't find you? Tell that to my aunt whose husband had a heart attack and DIED at the age of 26. Tell that to my other aunt whose husband died in his sleep of a brain aneurism. Tell that to my uncle who is currently battling cancer.

Ok so you've read the sob story of my family, but it's not just MY family. Accidents and terminal illnesses can happen to anyone.

Are you prepared?

How would you feel if you passed away and your spouse was left ALONE to pay off the mortgage, the credit cards, the car payments, etc. And what about your children, would they still be able to attend college? Don’t forget about burial expenses!

There are loads of possibilities when it comes to buying Life Insurance. You may be thinking, "Well, I can't afford it right now, but I'll look into soon".

YOU CAN'T AFFORD NOT TO HAVE IT!!

My advice is to work with an insurance broker who can get you rates from numerous companies and save you the hassle of working with a million different agents. By working with a broker, you're also guaranteed to get the best rates because insurance brokers represent many insurance carriers and specialize in finding you the most affordable rates . Check around, I think you'd be surprised at how low rates can actually be.

My personal favorite type of Life Insurance is Universal Life. It’s like a Whole Life policy with a twist. For example, let's say you want $100,000 worth of Life Insurance. With a Universal Life Insurance policy you are ALWAYS GUARANTEED a certain interest rate and that $100,000 as a death benefit. PLUS, Universal Life is also tied into the S&P's. So if the S&P's do really well, you can GAIN money on your policy, but you can NEVER lose money! Now, isn't that a good deal?

How much if your family's financial future and lifestyle worth to you?

Great Tips To Finding Affordable Health Insurance

Are you one of the millions of people in the US that don’t have health insurance? Here are some great tips for finding affordable health insurance:

  • Find an insurance broker and not a captive agent. (A captive agent can only give offer you rates from the specific company he/she works for. An insurance broker usually represents many insurance carriers and has the ability to shop them all to find you the best rates available.
  • Use the internet to find free health insurance quotes. (Make sure that you only use one quoting service online. Using multiple quoting services can flood your phone lines with insurance agents. Usually when you use a quoting service they find you 2-4 agents to get you quotes. If you use 6 quoting services, that 2-4 has now become 12-24.)
Compare more than one company. (Don’t always settle for the cheapest rate. Make sure that you compare the different value-added benefits that each policy has. For example, some policies will have preventative services that are paid for as first dollar expenses, meaning you don’t have to satisfy your deductible first to use them. Preventative services are things like yearly physicals and lab work.)
  • Check into the possibility of a High Deductible Plan. (I would only suggest this if you are relatively healthy and don’t go to the doctor for every ache and sniffle. With a plan like this you are going to pay for all of the minor and routine medical treatments, saving your health insurance for the major catostrophic expenses.)

These are few really great tips for finding affordable health insurance. Now where do you go to get quotes for affordable health coverage.

I recommend using WFC Marketing's Insurance Website. They can help consumers find affordable health insurance coverage in all 50 states.

WFC Marketing, Inc. is an online service for consumers to get rates for all types of insurance. I like using them because they don’t pass your information to dozens of agents. They usually will have 2-4 agents call you. I have used some services and as many as 12 insurance agents called me the next day. Yikes.

Is Your Health Insurance Policy Up To Date

If your health insurance policy is more than 2 years old, you could be paying way too much.

It's a known fact that your health insurance premium is going to increase 5-10% every year. But when was the last time you had a health insurance review done? If your health insurance plan is 2 years old or older, then you could be paying way too much for your health insurance. Consumers who purchase their health insurance on an individual basis may not realize that they are paying too much for their health insurance.Health insurance companies generally guarantee their rates for one year after you purchase a policy from them. It's a sure bet that after that initial rate guarantee period is over that your health insurance premium is going to increase. It is generally good practice to complete a health insurance review every year before you renew your current policy. Health insurance plans change all the time. Health Insurance companies are adding new plans to their portfolio and taking olds off. What does this mean for you?If your current health insurance plan is no longer being marketed and sold by your insurance company, then your premium could be higher than what you could be paying if you were on a newer plan. Yearly Insurance reviews for your Health Insurance are a good idea. Talk to your insurance agent to find out if there are newer plans available that cost less money. As an insurance broker I see this happening everyday. I have a client who was insured through Company A. Well during the year Company A decided not to market the plan that my client a part of. They were introducing a new plan that they intended to market instead of the old one. Well when my clients' annual renewal came around, he received notice that his insurance premium was going to go up 25%. He immediately called me and we were able to get him a more comprehensive plan for less money than he was paying for the old plan. Make sure you do a yearly Insurance Review. This will insure that you stay up to date with the health insurance market. If you do not have an agent or don't know where to find one, then you can use a great service that I recommend: Affordable Health Insurance Website
If you decide to apply for a different insurance plan, DO NOT CANCEL your existing coverage until the new plan is in place. Cancelling your existing coverage before the new coverage in place could be disasterous for you if you don't qualify medically for the new plan. For example: If you cancel your current coverage and try to purchase new coverage and you aren't accepted, then you will be up a creek without a paddle because you may not be able to get your old policy back. You would have to be re-underwritten to get your old plan back. So I repeat...DO NOT CANCEL your existing coverage until the new plan is in place. If you have any questions, you can either contact me using my contact information or leave a comment on this article with your question and I will answer it to the best of my ability.

In the meantime, go to Affordable Health Insurance Website to begin your Yearly Insurance Review.
